2026 Closing Exercises Information
We are pleased to share some important information about our 2026 Closing Exercises with Grade 12 Lancer Families.
Date: Tuesday May 26
Time: Gradates to arrive at 8 AM. Ceremony begins at 9 AM sharp.
Location: Jack Simpson Gymnasium at the University of Calgary.
Participation
To participate in the Closing Exercises at Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School students will:
- Be enrolled in grade 12
- Pay the grad fee – see information below
- Order a graduation gown – linked below
- Be at the Jack Simpson Gym on the University of Calgary on Tuesday May 26 at 8 AM.
Participation in the Closing Exercises is optional, but we would love for all students to be there to celebrate this achievement.
Fees
There is a $67 grad fee, that can be paid through PowerSchool, that covers the costs associated with the closing exercises. This includes the rental of the grad gowns and V stolls, the purchases of the graduation cap, tassel and commemorative folder for students to keep, the rental of the Jack Simpson Gym for the event, and all other associated costs.
Grad Gowns
Please ensure your student has completed the following Grad Gown Order Form. A gown sizing chart is available with the question that asks what size they would like. Please know that FF is full figure and only necessary if a student wears a unisex size 2XL or larger.
Guests
Each graduate will be issued three guest tickets to attend the closing exercises. Graduates do not need a ticket to attend. Additional tickets will be available, at lunch, for a week before the ceremony, starting the day after the gowns are handed out. Students will be able to pick up 2 additional tickets, free of charge, each day until all tickets are spoken for. At the closing exercises, Staff at the Jack Simpson Gymnasium will be collecting tickets to ensure compliance of their seating capacities.
2026 Graduation Banquet
Attending
Date: Tuesday May 26, 2026
Time: 6 PM arrival. Dinner to begin at 6:30 PM.
Location: Event Centre at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino
The evening will consist of dinner, a formal program of speeches, and a dance (that concludes at 11pm). The dress code is formal. The evening is entirely optional, and tickets will be sold until we reach the venue’s capacity. Although we are trying to keep costs down, tickets are expected to be in the $100-$120 range.
Tickets
Tickets to the Banquet will be available through PowerSchool starting in April once costs have been finalized with the venue. We will meet with the Grade 12s to go over more information before ticket sales begin. This information will be forwarded to parents as well.
Communication
On Wednesday, January 28th, all Grade 12 students listened in to a virtual grad assembly. A reccording of this assembly has been linked here for you. Student communication around our closing exercises is done through announcements at school, the Grad D2L, and our Grad Instagram (@epscarlettgradinfo). Families are welcome to follow the Instagram account for information as it comes out.
GRADUATION PHOTOS - 2025-2026
Graduating students can now begin booking their photo appointments and secure a spot by clicking the Book Portrait Session.
Please note: The booking site will prompt for the school’s postal code to proceed. The postal code is T2W 1H4.
Appointments will start on December 1 in the school cafeteria, and students should arrive for their session 15 minutes before the start time.

GRADUATION SHELL
The Grad 2025 D2L shell is now active for all Grade 12 students. We would encourage you to visit the site regularly as information is updated as it becomes available. Parents must access the information through the student D2L shell.
