National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

All CBE staff, students, families, friends, and neighbors are invited to continue learning and show support at the 5th annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day event taking place at the Confluence Historic Site on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. This important community gathering is a collaboration between the City of Calgary, CBE, Calgary Catholic School District, Calgary Police Service, Calgary Fire Department, and The Confluence. A CBE group photo will be taken at the CBE Smudge Tipi at the end of the event. Meet us there! 🧡

Athletics

Calling all swimmers!  Interested in joining the Lancer Swim Team this year? Tryouts start Mon. October 5.

The Alex Bus – Next Visit is Tuesday, September 29

The Alex Community Health Bus is a fully operational clinic on wheels, offered at no cost to our students. The goal is to provide primary health care, resources, and referrals to those who may otherwise face barriers to accessing care. The services complement — but do not replace — a family doctor or ongoing case management.

Post Secondary Scholarship Presentation

Any students interested in finding out about financial supports for Post Secondary studies, please join us in the Learning Commons at lunch time on Tuesday, September 29. 

French Immersion Update

Students in our Grade 12 French immersion classes will have an opportunity to complete the B2 level Diplome d’études de la langue française (DELF) exam. The DELF is the internationally recognized standard for language accreditation in French. The exam takes the form of a written and oral exam. Students who successfully complete the DELF will receive a certificate from the Ministry of International Education of France attesting to their French-language abilities. This opportunity is offered at the cost of $100 to families. There are 2 occasions for grade 12 students to complete the exam through the CBE DELF Testing Centre this school year on November 16 and April (date to be confirmed). Because the exam is given all around the world on this day, the exam starts at 10:00 AM sharp and there is no flexibility around late arrival on the day or to move or make up the exam at another time. Student Registration for the November exam can be completed up until October 7th, 2026, and is through this Form: DELF B2 - novembre 2026 | DELF B2 - November 2026 – Fill out form  For more information regarding the DELF B2 exam please contact Mme. Advanced Placement

Registration is now open for AP exams. This applies to 1st semester AP courses, full-year AP courses, and for any Challenge Exams. Please register for these exams with this link: AP Exam Registration Form 2027 (sem 1) – Fill out form  If you are taking a second semester AP course, you will sign up in February. 

The deadline for registration and payment is October 30th, and each exam costs $160. Students can also apply for accommodations through Mr. Brandt and the deadline is January 8. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Brandt at dmbrandt@cbe.ab.ca

Yearbook

2026/2027 Yearbook dates!  Last day to order is February 15, 2027. 

If a student is interested in designing the yearbook cover, please submit to Ms. TK by Oct. 1, 2026.  If you have questions, please see Ms. TK in room 109. 

  • If you did NOT get your spring insert from your yearbook LAST year (2025/26), please pick it up in the learning commons with Ms. Smith Myrthu or Ms. O’Bray or stop into room 109 and see Ms. TK. 

Child & Youth Well-Being Sessions for Families & Caregivers   

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community.

Sessions are designed to provide families with knowledge, tools, and strategies to help navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today.

Unique Pathways

Unique Pathways – Applications open October 5th and close on November 20th for the winter term.  Unique Pathways offer students opportunities to explore various careers while still earning high school credits.  Some pathways allow students to earn dual credit for high school and post-secondary education.  Check out the Off-Campus website to learn more about these pathways.  See Mrs. McLeod for more information.

Healthy Hunger

This is an optional service for families and the decision to participate is up to each family. We have not reviewed the health standards at each restaurant, so we encourage families to make an informed choice.

  • To participate in fun lunches create an account at Healthy Hunger to register. You will be notified when new lunches are posted and be able to view up-coming lunches, place orders and pay for orders online.
