Dear Parents & Guardians
A huge thank you to all the leadership students who organized our school dance Thursday! We had over 300 students come out and it was a ton of fun. Lots of time and attention was put into decorating the gyms, planning the food and organizing the dance. Our leadership teacher Ms. Ehrmann deserves a huge thank you as well for the numerous hours and the passion she has for leading this! Scarlett only started dances last school year after not running them for close to 20 years. We are fortunate to have outstanding students at Scarlett who can organize this and run a safe and fun night and for having students who are respectful and have great character. Our students were excellent that night. We are incredibly proud of you all for your excellent conduct and we all really enjoyed the evening.

Student Services Updates
Summer School
Student Services held a live presentation on Thursday, April 17 regarding summer school registration. A copy of this presentation is available on the Student Services D2L page (requires student log-in), and students received an email to their Educbe accounts on Thursday morning regarding this process. Parents/guardians can refer to the School Messenger email from CBE Summer School on April 14th or from Scarlett on April 15th for complete information regarding summer school course requests.
A recap on some key takeaways regarding Summer School:
- Summer school course requests open on Thursday April 17 at 5pm.
- Students must choose between online or in-person courses.
- Students may select a maximum of one course.
- Students who complete their summer school request by May 1 will have the best opportunity to select their preferred course.
- Counsellors will be entering requests into internal registration portals when they open.
- We will send out a confirmation email when we complete this.
- Course confirmations will come the week of June 2-6 from Summer School teams.
- Summer School is extremely condensed, with each day of class equivalent to a week of regular semester learning.
- Students are not advised to take online courses if they are travelling out of country or have planned vacations.
- Final exams cannot be rescheduled and diploma exam locations are predetermined (see CBE Summer School Courses website.).
- Not all courses are available at each location. Have your student review course offerings at CBE Summer School Courses website. prior to filling out the appropriate form.
- Students should complete their own registration.
- No course changes or substitutes will be accepted after requests have been entered by counsellors. Students must be sure of their choice at time of entry.
- If students wish to withdraw from their courses (changed their mind, registered with another school, etc.), they must let their counsellor know immediately.

Course Verifications
Students can log into the Student and Parent MyCBE Portal to view next year requests (under Class Registrations). Course requests may have changed since students input them based on teacher recommendations, missing prerequisites or graduation requirements. We are asking all students to please verify their requests. If requesting a change, fill out the Course Verifications Change Request Form. If students are requesting a course they are not recommended for, they must pick up a Going Against Recommendation form in Guidance and submit it by Thurs May 1 at 4pm. All other course change requests are due that evening at 11:59pm. Changes will not be possible after this.
