Dear Parents and Guardians

We have had a great start to the new semester last week. We had an assembly where we shared how proud we are of our students. Our school is a safe and caring community and students overall are following expectations for creating a positive high school experience. We also reviewed school policies around student parking, bathroom breaks and extended absences. Please contact the office if you require more information after discussing with your child. Info below will help you plan for the week ahead.

Music Notes

This week has been fun getting back into the groove and into the action of second semester. February’s Music Calendar can be found on our Music page or under Resources. reminder that our Jazz Bands will be performing at our annual Jazz on Canterbury event set for next Wednesday, Feb 7. The show will start at 6:30 PM in the Scarlett Theatre and, in addition to our three Scarlett Jazz Ensembles, will feature bands from both Robert Warren and Woodman schools. Although no tickets will be sold, a $5 admission will be collected at the door. Jazz students will also be participating in the last All-Ages Jazz Jam of the year on Friday, February 9. This event will take place at MRU’s Nickle Theatre, with the downbeat slated for 7:00 PM.

Grade 10 Family Survey

The Alberta Assurance Survey has been sent to Grade 10 families – we kindly encourage you to take some time to complete this survey to share valuable insight into the pillars of education quality, citizenship, welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments, student learning engagement, and; access to supports and services. It is important to note, when completing the survey, please be aware that responding “Don’t Know” to a question will count in the same category as the “dissatisfied or very dissatisfied”/”poor” or “very poor”/”disagree” or “disagree strongly” responses. “Don’t know” answers will impact the results of the survey negatively. If you “don’t know” the answer to a particular question, you should skip that question; that is, do not answer it, unless you intend your response to count as a negative one. Grade 10 students will also be completing this survey at school in the coming weeks.
